Last April and May 2023, the Climate-Resilient Siargao Project of Komunidad and GSMA launched the Enterprise Web Application to the nine municipalities of Siargao Island. It is a web app solution for multi-hazard impact-based monitoring and early warning system that provides a 24/7 continuous monitoring and forecasting of weather on a localized (barangay) level.
On July 11 to 14, 2023, Community Managers Kaye Pintor and Earon Cabasal visited the MDRRMOs and the command centers of the nine (9) municipalities of Siargao Island on the impact of the system on their community. During the visit, Komunidad and the municipalities discussed on the sustainability of the solutions after the project. With these initiatives, it will continue to help the communities and businesses of Siargao Island to monitor, anticipate, and adapt to climate impacts.
