May 05, 2023: Digitalizing DRRM command center of General Luna, Surigao Del Norte
The Climate-Resilient Siargao project as one of the impact project of Komunidad rollout training and workshop session in Municipality of General Luna. It is a one-day event that has been attended by different sectors among the LGU and other stakeholders within the municipality. The morning is filled with knowledge building regarding weather and natural-hazards through the Weather, Climate, Tropical Cyclone 101 training, which enhances the participants understanding regarding on the topic. It paves the way to clear the misconceptions and discuss experiences in their local weather within their municipality. Whereas, the afternoon focused on the dashboarding workshop of the participants to the Enterprise Web Application System of Komunidad. The participants experiences on-hand system during the workshop, this will help the Municipality of General Luna to exercise early decision-making and action.
Also, the project turnovers laptop and Wi-Fi router to the DRRM of the LGU, in which will help them to improve and build their operation command center using innovative digital solutions. With the data-driven and science-based decision support tools provided by the project, it allows to empower the local communities of General Luna, Surigao Del Norte to anticipate, absorb, and adapt to the negative impacts of climate change.
