Aside from surfing and the picturesque beauty of beaches, the island also offers other water activities such as cliff jumping (Magpupungko rock pools or Tarzan Jump at Maasin River), wakeboarding. scuba diving, and other more.
It has a tropical climate- very warm (28-31 degree Celsius) and humid year-around, with considerable rainfall. Despite having a tropical climate, Siargao Island is prone to tropical cyclones and unpredictable weather conditions that results to strong storm surges and inundation of low-lying areas. Also, there is a high vulnerability of the island to sea level rise and other impacts of climate change.
